Area, Ethnic, Cultural, and Group Studies
Area, Ethnic, Cultural, Gender, and Group Studies is an academic field investigating how gender intersects with other dimensions of social identities, such as national and regional histories, the experiences of oppressed groups within and between countries, and more. Many of the program's participants belong to underrepresented cultural, ethnic, sex, or group identities, and their experiences are crucial to the work being done here. The availability of minority-focused programs in North American universities has grown substantially in recent years.
