Legal Professions and Studies
Legal professionals learn, advance, and apply the law. Typically, a law degree or some other kind of legal education is required before one may pursue a career in law. The law is professionally developed, learned, and applied by lawyers. The legal standards, legislation, and procedures are all developed with this in mind so that they may be carried out in accordance with a person's and a citizen's constitutional rights and freedoms. They are designed to serve as a foundation for the state's legal philosophy and a guide for legislative activity. They aid in maintaining the Constitution since they serve as the Grundnorm, or core, of the law. They are essential to the nation's administration of justice because they encourage maintaining the balance between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.
