Sport and Fitness Administration/Management

A study of the business, coaching, and physical education principles necessary to organize, direct, and manage athletic programs, teams, fitness/rehabilitation centres, health clubs, sports recreation services, and associated industries. This course covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: program design and development; business and financial management principles; sales, marketing, and recruitment; event promotion, scheduling, and management; facility management; public relations; legal aspects of sports; and applicable health and safety standards. To put it simply, sport management is the study and practice of running a business in the entertainment and leisure industries. Planning, organizing, directing, managing, budgeting, leading, and assessing are part of sports management's broad responsibilities. Some schools offer only associate's degrees in sport management, while others go as far as bachelor's and master's. When examining the value of sports degrees, it is crucial to zero in on sports science.
