Public Administration
Public administration works to improve society by promoting the common good. Professionals in public administration learn the abilities necessary to manage not only at the federal level but also at the state and local levels and in non-profit organizations. Commonly used in both the public and commercial sectors, skills in public administration, such as project management and program management, are easily transferable. The M.P.A. program exposes students to the policy-making and administrative processes of government and non-profit organizations, preparing them for entry-level or advanced careers. To prepare students to be influential public sector leaders, schools typically provide programs focusing on topics such as human resource management, communication, finance, law, statistics, and theory. Graduates will have the knowledge and skills to effectively conceptualize, plan, implement, and carry out various professional projects and initiatives.
