Organizational Leadership
Leadership in an organization is not as simple as it sounds. Leadership comprises guiding and coordinating staff members to accomplish organizational objectives. If you've hit a wall in your current position and are searching for a way to advance, or if you're interested in expanding your horizons professionally, a career in organizational leadership could be the way to go. The role of an organizational leader is complex, involving knowledge of the company's principles and goals and proficiency in time management and strategic planning. As we'll see, "organizational leader" isn't commonly used by businesses. The company and the specific role one holds in an organization both impact the task of organizational leadership. Despite its significance, "organizational leader" is rarely used as a job title. Leaders in an organization start as "high potentials." After working their way up the corporate or non-profit food chain, they take on jobs of administrative and directorial responsibility, with titles like dean, provost, general counsel, and chief financial officer.
