Occupational Therapy/Therapist

There are only a small number of bachelor's degree programs in occupational therapy, but they exist for students who are serious about making it their career. Bachelor of Science (BS) degree programs in OT provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical experience. However, these courses are unusual because most occupational therapists need to earn a master's degree. Majors in OT often take classes in the following areas:

  • Kinesiology
  • Neuroscience
  • Communication
  • Methods supported by research Logic in a clinical setting

There aren't a ton of OT majors at the college level, but there are plenty of other great options. A common question amongst students is, "What academic discipline does occupational therapy fit under, if it is not a typical undergraduate concentration?". The correct response is that many colleges and universities offer a pre-occupational therapy major. A Bachelor of Science in Occupational Science is one example of a nearly connected degree.
