Human Resources Management
Human resource management (HRM or HR) is a strategic approach to managing an organization's employees to maximize their contributions to the company's bottom line. Its goal is to boost productivity so the company can achieve its long-term goals more effectively. Human resource management, or HRM, is a discipline that focuses on planning for and implementing strategies related to an organization's human capital. Human resources departments are accountable for handling pay and benefits systems, in addition to overseeing recruiting, training, development, performance evaluation, and appraisal of employees. Industrial relations, or the process of adjusting business processes to accommodate the terms of collective bargaining agreements and legal mandates, fall under HR's purview as well. Human resources (HR) facilitates the organization's success via its personnel. Human resources managers oversee the organization's workforce and are responsible for enforcing relevant policies and procedures. A human resource professional's area of expertise may include sourcing and interviewing candidates, providing ongoing training and staff development to managing employee relations and perks.
