Education, General

An undergraduate professional degree and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) qualify graduates for careers as educators. Additional tasks, such as fieldwork and research, may be necessary for countries like Tanzania and Kenya before a student is considered qualified to teach there. In some regions, this process is coupled with or immediately follows exams for teaching credentials. A bachelor's degree in general education is an option for undecided students about their academic focus. This degree is intended to give students a solid grounding in various disciplines, from the arts and sciences to the social sciences. The purpose of a well-rounded general education is to equip students with a foundational understanding that can be applied across disciplines, not just specific ones. Accessible academic assessments (such as grade-level achievement tests, writing samples, and chapter tests) are administered to all students in the general education classroom to measure their growth.
