Counseling psychologists study and treat individual problems (such as depression and anxiety) and systemic ones (such as bias and discrimination) that affect people at all stages and in all walks of life. They focus on a person's strengths rather than their weaknesses to help them avoid or deal with issues such as mental health, relationships, social support, cultural understanding, employment, schooling, and personal identity.
