Computer Engineering
CoE or CPE stands for computer engineering, which is a subfield of electrical engineering that encompasses the various subdisciplines of computer science and electronic engineering that are needed to create computers and computer systems. In addition to software engineering and electronic engineering, computer engineers typically study software and hardware design and how they can work together. Engineers in this field work on the hardware and the software sides of computing, creating everything from microcontrollers and processors to personal computers and supercomputers. This branch of engineering looks at computer systems as a whole, not just how they function individually. Among the many products of computer engineering are robots. Software and firmware development for embedded microcontrollers, VLSI chip design, analog sensor design, mixed signal circuit board design, and operating system design are all everyday responsibilities of computer engineers. Robotics research, which uses digital systems to control and monitor electrical systems like motors, communications, and sensors, is a good fit for computer engineers.
