Anthropology is the study of humanity as a whole. Anthropology is the study of humankind, from its earliest beginnings to the present day, focusing on the cultural, linguistic, and biological diversity that characterizes it—the Anthropology significant consists of 14 courses taken at any of the Colleges and Schools. In addition, there are several subfields within anthropology that students can focus on as part of their degree program. These include General Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Archaeology, Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology, Medical Anthropology and Environmental Anthropology. Students who major in general anthropology get an overview of the four subfields that make up the discipline. In addition, students generally are expected to study courses in Biological Anthropology, Archaeology,

Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology, and Medical Anthropology. This major requires a minimum of 34 total units for graduation. Sometimes, a double major will require you to take more credits.
