ABOUT TELLER CAREERS

According to studies, many consumers continue to do business with a specific bank merely because they like the tellers who serve them. What qualities distinguish an excellent storyteller? While bank tellers have a variety of responsibilities, nearly all of them entail dealing with money. That implies they must be extremely cautious in all they do.

A normal business day can consist of cashing checks, taking payments for a customer's invoices, processing traveler's checks, and even dealing with foreign currencies. The ability to perform simple calculations and pay attention to detail are required.

However, someone who can combine this with a happy, outgoing attitude can do well as a bank teller. And, because many banks promote from inside, it's not uncommon for someone to start as a teller and advance to branch manager, vice president, or even bank president.
