Slot Supervisors
Career Snapshot
You can generally hear the whirling symbols and ringing bells of slot machines at any casino, whether it's in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, on riverboats, or on an Indian reservation. Slot key personnel are in charge of keeping the casino's lifeblood flowing smoothly. They are the individuals behind the machines, seasoned casino employees willing to take on this position of trust.
To supervise the slot machines, especially during busy periods, the job requires assertiveness and a keen eye. If a player has a complaint, it is handled by the slot key person. If a machine malfunctions, the slot key person removes it from service and arranges a repair.
The slot key worker also monitors for unusual behaviour, unruly players, or underage patrons, and enforces safety laws. Every player, however, wants for a close encounter with a slot key person because he or she is also the one who confirms and pays out the large winnings.
