ABOUT OFFICE CLERKS, GENERA CAREERS

If you're detail-oriented and task-oriented, working as a general office clerk can be a terrific way to 'get your foot in the door' at a corporation and go up the professional ladder. This is because practically every organisation need workers who can type and file, operate photocopiers, fax machines, and other office equipment, and execute a variety of other responsibilities.

A doctor's office employee will not execute the same responsibilities as someone working in an auto parts wholesaler or a financial institution. However, regardless of where they work, all general office clerks are committed to completing the task at hand.

General office clerk positions are virtually always entry-level. A high school graduation, typing skills, and basic computer skills are all desirable. In reality, in order to be successful in the field, office clerks must understand contemporary communications technology such as paging, emailing, and texting.

The most vital attribute, though, is still a "can-do" mentality. Once you're inside as a general office clerk, you'll be able to show off your skills and be first in line when other positions become available.
