ABOUT NUCLEAR TECHNICIAN CAREERS

Nuclear technology is a new profession, but it already has many uses, therefore nuclear experts work for the military, the government, public utilities, private corporations, colleges, and hospitals. Some have four-year degrees in science and math. Others have completed two years of specialised training and have received an associate's degree in applied science.

Nuclear technicians work on the job by operating nuclear test and research equipment, monitoring radiation, or assisting nuclear engineers and physicists with research. They could use remote control technology to manipulate radioactive items or materials that will be exposed to radiation.

To keep the risk of radiation exposure low, safety precautions must be strictly followed. Nuclear operations frequently necessitate around-the-clock monitoring, therefore night and weekend employment is usual. However, the workplace must be clean and ordered by necessity, and the work itself can be highly essential to individuals, communities, and even nations.
