Because the desk clerk is typically the first person a guest contacts when checking into a hotel or motel, in addition to performing certain duties, the desk clerk is responsible for providing a good first impression. It is critical to be able to quickly and efficiently complete the tasks required to check a guest in. It is critical to understand check-out times, hotel services, and area attractions. 

Personal warmth, friendliness, and good people skills are even more crucial. When guests arrive at their hotel, they are frequently exhausted or agitated. The desk clerk's objective is to make customers feel sincerely welcome and comfortable so that they will stay at your hotel every time they visit town.
