ABOUT GAMBLING DEALER CAREERS

A casino dealer is someone who works at a table, whether it is for poker, blackjack, craps, baccarat, or roulette. Organizing these games can be both entertaining and difficult. Dealers must understand the rules of the game and be able to communicate them to casino guests. You must also be able to concentrate while processing payouts, collecting losing bets, and making change in a noisy and stimulating setting without making mistakes.

If you want to work in this field, you should be able to deal with all types of customers gracefully and successfully, including those who are furious or belligerent. Most casinos prefer to engage individuals who have completed a dealer training programme and obtained a 'Certificate of Professional Croupier' or a similar certification.

Other requirements may include requiring the dealer applicant to be bonded, as well as obtaining a state licence, an FBI fingerprint check, or certification from a professional group. The expanding popularity of regulated gambling has created a bright future for trained, trustworthy casino dealers, whether in the Nevada deserts, on a riverboat on the Mississippi, or on the boardwalk in Atlantic City.
