Farm Equipment Mechanics and Service Technicians
Career Snapshot
Agriculture is becoming a multibillion-dollar industry. Huge farms necessitate large, specialised machinery, such as tractors with 400-horsepower diesel engines, hay balers, planters and grain augers, milking machines, and spraying and irrigation equipment. Name a machine, and chances are it receives a lot of use outside, in all types of weather.
Preventative maintenance is performed by farm equipment mechanics, the majority of whom work for farm equipment dealers. They spend a lot of time tuning and fixing machines, whether at the dealership or out in the field.
To keep things working well, every farming community relies on its farm equipment sellers and mechanics. After all, crops cannot be harvested if the equipment fails, whether by full moon or flood lights!
