ABOUT CLEANER OF VEHICLES/EQUIPMENT CAREERS

A job as a vehicle washer is not difficult to obtain if you match certain physical criteria. You'll need to be tough. You must be willing to work long hours for poor remuneration. You must be able to lift and carry big goods, as well as squat, kneel, lounge, or crawl in odd postures.

To protect oneself against chemicals, you may need to wear protective clothes. But, in addition to a clean car or piece of equipment, you'll get expertise and a track record of on-the-job performance at the end of the line.

If you do a good job and are a reliable employee, you may be able to advance to a more skilled position. As a result, this is a career that someone with little education can use to get started in the workforce. Typically, vehicle washers are trained on the job.

Because much of the training is delivered orally, being able to speak and understand the language used on the job site may be necessary.

Because machines are doing more and more of the washing, there are fewer of these positions available than previously. However, there are still a lot of opportunities every year because it's a career that many only do for a short period before moving on to more specialised positions.
