Claims Examiners, Property and Casualty Insurance
Career Snapshot
Claims examiners at insurance companies typically supervise claims adjusters. They ensure that payments and settlements are made in compliance with corporate policies and processes, as well as that the adjuster's repair estimates are accurate.
Overpayments, underpayments, and anomalies are reported by claims examiners. On allegations that go to court, they consult with attorneys, medical personnel, and specialists. They also contribute to the prevention of insurance fraud, whether it involves phoney medical claims, forged documents, or even murder for profit.
That is why, in addition to dealing with the complexities of insurance legislation and claim procedures, it is critical to be able to determine whether a certain claim makes sense. When the details don't line up, it may be incredibly satisfying to use your knowledge and talents to expose the alleged fraud and bring the culprits to justice.
