ABOUT POSTSECONDARY CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION TEACHER CAREERS

Adult and vocational education teachers are needed to train entry-level job seekers and upgrade the skills of experienced workers as the demand for skilled labour grows. These teachers teach jobs that do not require a college diploma, such as X-ray technicians, auto mechanics, welders, and cosmetologists. They also provide remedial education for school dropouts and assist students in preparing to enter a four-year degree programme.

As part of a continuing education programme, other teachers assist people in updating their employment skills. Many vocational teachers have work experience, and some have degrees, licences, or certificates in their specialty.

Adult and vocational education teachers must stay up to date on the latest technology and skills required in the field. If you believe you have good communication skills and are patient, this could be a suitable career path for you. It can be incredibly rewarding to assist others in achieving their career goals.
