Agricultural Equipment Operators
Career Snapshot
ABOUT AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR CAREERS
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
Some farms grow wheat, corn, or cotton. Other people grow fruits and veggies. All farms necessitate the use of specialist machinery and farm equipment operators.
Many farm machinery, including planters and tillers, is pulled or powered by tractors. Harvesters and combines, for example, are completely self-contained machines. In general, the equipment is durable and easy to operate and maintain.
Even with air-conditioned operator cabins and built-in radio speakers, ploughing or harvesting hundreds of acres of farmland can be tedious. The operation can also be dangerous because the same tools used to chop or trim crops can easily cut off a finger or a hand.
